Spied in the Autotrader.
Second cheapest elise in the UK for sale, and from a trader. Must be damaged repaired? In case anyone is looking....

Well, if it was a private sale, that isnt amazingly cheap. obviously for a dealer it is a good deal. im tempted!
problem is, at that mileage, the bushes / joints/ shocks etc will need a bit of work /replaced. Any idea how much this would cost, and who would work on it?

Yeah - if your half way handy with a spanner and eveything is currently pointing in the right direction it would be a great idea.
Pity we can't fund another one

Birney29: Take his bloody arm off, at that price as ninja says you can get anything fixed, but my 97 at 41k is fine, could do with a suspension refresh I suspect but I paid 10.5 5 months ago!
Ask (Bribery works well too: coffee and bacon rolls) someone on here to check it out to see if anything is terminally broken and buy it!

It all comes down to one thing - if its Cat registered or not.
If it is, then its at its money (if anything maybe a bit expensive) but if its not a written off and repaired its a buy. The front clam does look in the pics a bit too "new".

You guys are a bad influence on me!
ideally id love a series 2, but at that price im very very very tempted. Im not the worlds greatest mechanic, but it will be a second car, so anyhting i was doing to it, i could take my time with. might give them a phone to get there address

At that money you would be able to just buy and thrash it! Let us know the outcome of the call......

birney buy it and then advertise it in auto trader for more!
someone will buy it of fyou come summer and you'll be able to get your S2 then if you want having made a few quid on this one. also means that you have an S1 to play with in the meantime.

Thrash it!? no way! ive waited sooooooo long to get a lotus, id probably spend the first week just hugging it! An elise is my dream car (well, apart from a Ferrari 250 California GT). Somthing will no doubt go wrong and thwart my plans though.

First off has to be any accident damage previous, state of the tyres/brakes/ what exhaust and what History.
I`d be surprised if its not had any previous damage if it isnt sold already.
When I was looking a guy was selling a Cat D in Greenock (about 5miles from me) and he sold it half an hour after he put it online for 6500! They move fast.....
