New Business Venture...(NLC)

Post by Fluoxetine » Wed Aug 08, 2007 5:18 pm

Hi folks,

I've checked with the mods, and been given the green light to post this...

Quite a few who know me are already aware of this, but I've been itching to make it a bit more public, by posting it on the board... :D

Around February this year, the owner of the shop in which my other half (Hazel) works indicated that he was looking to sell up his interests in Stirling, in order to concentrate on his other three shops located in Fife...

...Cue several weeks of number crunching, before arriving at the decision to attempt to buy the business in Stirling as a going concern....

...Five months, many headaches, much paperwork, plenty of meetings, and some ( !) expense later...And the deal is now complete as of last Monday! <bg>

Hazel and I are now the proud owners of a Kilt sales and Hire shop in Stirling town centre! :D :D :D

It's currently called 'Kingdom Kilts', but we're looking to rebrand around October / November this year...

It's very early days yet - It's the first business either of us have owned.....And there's *lots* of work ahead of us...But we're both absolutely delighted!!! :D

If anybody needs (or knows anyone who needs! ) any sort of kilt attire, to buy or hire, or you just happen to be passing by the shop, please drop by and see us...I've invested in a new coffee machine, so you can give it a test drive...

The shop can be found in the city centre, at 22 Barnton Street, Stirling, FK8 1NA... (Some pictures below...)

Cheers for now!

Ross (& Hazel)

(Scary stuff faction    !)

P.S. No specific SE discount in place (yet!), but if you mention SE and that you know me from here, I'm sure we can sort something out...Prices are waaaaay cheaper than Glasgow / Edinburgh anyway!

best of luck mate, there is nowt better than being your own boss :D

stick a pile of leaflets/flyer's type things in the post to me, I do around 50 weddings a year so that is quite a few grooms, best men and ushers etc that require kilts :D

oh and speak to my mate Seppi at Lighthouse Studios, he's in Stirling too, I'm sure he will be happy to hand out your details

Thanks very much for the kind comments folks! :)

Even though we're taking over an existing business, it's a pretty nerve racking time!!!

Greg - The offer to help try and put some business our way is very, very much appreciated! <bg>

David - Hoping to have some leaflets / cards available in the very near future, so will P.M. you soon to get your postal address...

Shoomer - Can't quite compete with the standard of coffee you deal in, but can offer something resembling it from my humble Flavia machine...

Cheers again!

Ross.
