I had one of the seat bolts round off (it was already mangled before I started, and I couldn't quite get the angle of attack right, but still my own cack handed fault!). It's a long story - I was only trying to remove the plastic cover on the bulkhead in order to feed a couple of wires through from the engine bay ...

Anyway, after trying to use various weapons of mass destruction on it I ended up taking the seat off its frame to give better access - at which point I managed to hammer on a crappy 6-sided 1/2" socket I had lying about; I hammered it on really hard and it gave just enough bite to turn the bolt out.

The car now looks like a bomb has hit it inside but at least I think I have the plastic cover loose so I can feed the wires through - will collect piggy bank contents while I have the seat out

Car still only has one wheel on it (changing disks and pads all round!) ... came in for a coffee

fed my shift / oil temp wires up the l/h sill straight into the dash
quite easy if you remove the coin tray and enjoy fishing

Interior is now back together - just in time to laugh at the F1

I found a pound in cash and a pound of gravel under the seats - I had bought some of that anti-slip mat stuff to put in the wee shelf under the dash and had much more than I needed, so I cut the rest up to fit under the seats - hopefully this will cut down on some of the floor pan vibrations without trapping loads of water - oh and coins might stay where they land rather than hunting out the tightest spot under the seat

Edinburgh Festival! Just back from Lock Faskally and had to negotiate the closed roads get home change SSS then to the festival office to pickup tickets to realise my booking never went through. AWESOME.

No Lawrence is right - we have workmen in the street replacing/relining all the water mains - it's quite a complicated job, and to be honest I am impressed at (a) how hard they work and (b) how little inconvenience there has been considering they dug a hole in the road every 10m or so.

I abandoned the little black garage early on realising it would be blocked - actually it was worse, because the contractors decided to come and rebuild the demolished wall at the same time, and they piled all the stone and the hoardings in front of my garage without bothering to find out whether access would be required - gee, thanks!

I had already made sure that the big green garage wouldn't get blocked this weekend, which is where I was at noon

Is there anything you need or were you just passing?
