replacement trim on Steering wheel S.1

Post by MRpunchinella » Thu Aug 02, 2007 10:37 am

My alacantera trim on the wheel is a bit worn and dirty now and i'd like to get it changed. I cant clean it cause the surface is literally scuffed away so new is the way me thinks. Are these easy to fit and any idea how much to buy/ source?

thanks

Punch

The turnaround is pretty quick.

You could always send your old unit first if the £100 deposit puts you off....

I did my own wheel centre. The exige interior was red but I fancied black so... Got the alcantara from ebay for next to nothing, removed the old cover and used it as a rough template, spray adhesive on the wheel centre, new alcantara applied, edges trimmed and Bobs your Uncle. 15 mins work at most. Also did the door cards, sill covers and the facia panels on the dashboard. Looks perfect and as good as new. Cheap as chips too.

I need to get a new [edit:-] steering wheel as mine's shinier (is that a word?) than shug's bonce. Cammy had a nice momo suede number on the 340R - anyone know what options there are for aftermarket steering wheels?

I have one of those in my garage. I came off my first 340r.

I have not fitted it to this one as it blocks out most of the clocks. But this is the 340 the Elise/Exige clocks might be different.
