Due to my incident this morning (
http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... php?t=9193),
I have managed to organise a full day 1 on 1 training at knockhill which involves driving on public road for two hours, then it's the skid pan, and afterwords 25 laps around their circuit. Doing on the 19th August.
Also booked the 25th Spetember as a two person training day at Walshy, guessing I will learn more from him than I will at KH, but I thought I better get some training sooner rather than later.
If anyone here fancies spending an hour or two helping out before the KH day, drop me a line. I can't describe how badly I am sh1tting bricks about using the car in the wet again.

Dude, trundle over for the Ayrshire run on Sunday and (whilst we won't actually be able to do anything skiddy) it might be useful to get some advice or take some pax to guide you a bit.
Shouldn't really be so worried - it's pretty simple once you get the basics in your head. Again, the carlimits DVD is a great way to learn these in theory.

)
Looked utterly awesome when they had finished with it!!!

The KH full day thing is less than £300 one on one. The guy taking me drives an Elise as his every day car and according to them, he knows them inside out & then some.
Driving home this afternoon was interesting. I was almost in a daze, not interested in playing with my car - just wanted to drive, park her, and leave her sitting whilst I stew here.

Very shiny

Didn't last long before I had mud splatters and dead flies though. It comes up just as shiny after I clean, and water doesnt sit as much. Told it will be super slick after 3 or 4 treatments.

I can try saying I need a second space, and see if I can get it at the same price. Then I will tell him its for my mate.

I'm having a word with the wife about driver training at the moment. She's never really felt too confident with the Elise, which is a shame because she used to take our previous cars on track....
She'll take it out in the dry, but only if it looks like staying dry. All stems from me losing the backend on a roundabout a few months ago, and spinning at KH/Clarks... both in the wet.
Might take the A048's off and stick T1R's on do try and build up some confidence (it's not fair if she can't enjoy it). Was just wondering who the instructor was out of noseyness. Probably buy the Car Limits DVD, for her and me... and if she wants to take the plunge with a Walshy day after that then fair enough.
We are back on track on 23rd August, so if I get the T1R's on before then... hopefully she will give it a try whether it's rain or shine.
Andy.
