Hi chaps and chapess's
McApe, Chief Race Engineer Iddon and myself, will be heading out to Spa for the LOTRDC race. We are looking to leave Edinburgh on Wednesday Oct 11th, get a ferry on the Thursday around mid-day and head for Spa. Return on the 14th - back to Edi.
This is the jewel in the crown of the LOTRDC race series.
We're staying in a Bungalow near Spa, and will have qually Friday, Race 1 Saturday and Race 2 Sunday.
Thought i'd post up and see if anyone fancies this mission?

Your 2 weeks to late for a Munich Trip, end of september is way more fun

I was really, really keen to try to pull this off...but can't sacrifice the holidays for such a selfish, indulgent trip, at the expense of time with the family
If there were a way to do a good value round trip maybe with cheap flights etc that spanned only Friday night to Sunday night, I would look twice at that though.

Campbell,
Flying from Edinburgh to anywhere near Spa is more expensive and time consuming than depositing your family with mine (also abandoned) for the duration, then paying for the ladies to go to real Spa on your return ... you know it makes sense.
(BTW, I haven't actually confirmed these dates with Katie yet, but her OU exam is earlier the same week, so am guessing she hasn't got much else on afterwards).
All,
The Toyota will be heading over - space for myself & 3 pax, though Nicola has first dibs, so if she's coming the rest of you will need to fight over the other two seats.

<grin>
I had just discovered the lack of flight options actually! Will probably give it a miss TBH but appreciate the ideas & suggestions Robin

Fly Edi to Amsterdam, and hire car to Spa?
4 people in one car would make it 'reasonable'?

Interesting...
EDI - AMS 12th-14th Oct £111 rtn courtesy of Easyjet.
Hire car (Focus) £90 plus inevitable extras, presuming OK to drive it into Belgium, Europcar4Easyjet.
280km from Schiphol airport to Spa circuit, 2hrs 50 mins drive according to
http://www.viamichelin.com
I guess it is do-able right enough. Hmm.
