Audio Visual help

Post by CSK_423 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 9:19 pm

I've been looking to get a LCD tv recently and I've finally made my mind up on which one to go for. (Sony Bravia KDL40W2000, has anyone in the off chance got one ???)

Although I'm technically minded I'm struggling to find a site that details the best type of connection for a DVD player, Playstation etc ie s-vhs or composite blah blah

Anyone know of any decent websites which explains this ? I've trawled the internet and google with no success in the pros and cons

Depends on what outputs your DVD player has and whether you're talking PS2 or PS3.

And I don't know any websites either :P

The DVD player has scart, component and S-VHS outputs for Video. It is a combined dolby digital 5.1 so sound isn't an issue.

I currently have a ps2 with a view to purchasing a ps3 in the near future, I'm looking to house the dvd etc. in another area of the room and will need cabling between 10m and 15m depending on the run I choose.

Probably best with component for the DVD and HDMI on the PS3 - better get saving for the cables if you're looking at a 10-15m run...

Does your DVD player/amp have a digital input?
If not, start saving for a new one if you want your PS3/Sky/cable etc. in surround ;)
