Leaving tomorrow morning, not allowed on Motorways obviously.
Any ideas as to what would be an enjoyable route? Our ferry booked for midday.
Would love to catch some nice scenerie and good roads on the way, perhaps stop off at a cool breakfast point...
Gary.

Have a look at your road atlas but ... join the road to Crainlarough (SP?) and then it's clear.

Slow, slow, quick, quick, slow ...

Too much champagne I think - you obviously meant Crianlarich where the A82 meets the A85 from Stirling direction
Breakfast at Green Welly Stop just past Crianlarich you can't miss it at Tyndrum
Great roads enjoy.

As above - head for stirling, then to Crainlarich .. you'll then meet a fork in the road past Tyndrum where you must turn left for Oban, or you'll end up at Fort Bill.
Take it easy up there, very twisty with very little armco

Nah

to the Green Welly, the Real Food Cafe on the other side of the road is far better
Gary for a route to get to Stirling and then the A84~A85~A82~A85, the A904 from South Queensferry follows the coast along through Boness and Grangemouth, then take the A905 to Stirling. This should be straight forward enough and avoids the motorway, but is quite direct. The roads aren't exaclty great driving roads, but there are plenty of them to come once you get past Callander.

Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.
Silver Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD, on SORN spec...

One very nice place we ate, Ee Usk, in Oban. Lovely Seafood, and a grand view to boot.
Never really stopped much between Edi and Mull, expcept for the crossing of course.
Gary.

Avoided all motorways, very roughly it wen't a bit like this.
Edinburgh > Newbridge > Kirk(newton/liston) > grangemouth (held my breath) > falkirk > stirling > callender > oban > mull. Crianlarich fit's in there somewhere too. I managed to get to Oban in just over 2 hours 30. On the trip back, 2 hours 45 due to a Fiat who did the callender backroads around 40mph the whole way. Veyr few overtaking oppertunities!
Not sure what I enjoyed most, Mull or the drive there and back
Gary.
