Don't panic, I'm still coming!!

I'm off to Tiree for a week as of Monday - mates & alix are heading up to Oban for the Friday boat. i on the other hand planned to head over on Sunday. 1 boat on Sunday. Chance. None.

Anyone got any recommendations for a cheap B&B in Oban, or a campsite? (though I'll need to borrow a tent for that one!!)

TIA

/mastermind

Loads of B&Bs in Oban but it is quite a busy wee place, prices tend to be pretty similar in standard type of B&B there. Usually best to book one. Oban is dearer than most places as they know lots of people stay there to catch ferries.

There is a camp site if you follow the coast north from Oban just a mile or so out of the town around the promenade. It is no through road can't remember the camp site name but it has a lovely beach.

Cant hep you on the where to stay front, but would recommend a B&B instead of camping - after 2 nights on the lash, 00`s of miles blatting around Scotland, the last thing you are going to want to do on Sunday night is pitch up a tent! :D

Yeap thats the one. Didn't realise you couldn't camp there anymore must remember that cheers. Seems to be lots of campsites closing down. The one at Ardunie just south of Oban has closed as well. :?

Glenbervie Guest House, believe still run by our old pals Ian and Joan Auld, is a friendly well run place.

Say hello from Campbell Ford if you go there :-)

Nearest to pier and opposite car park is Kelvin Hotel B&B - doesn't look much but quite adequate.
