Turned the key and everything just died, no more electrics. Anyway just turned out I needed a new battery - it went from being pretty much fine to totally dead overnight hopefully nothing is wrong with the car/alternator.

And to make it an extra special bonus day, my mum backed in the elise in her Mini! Made an extradonary cracking noise but I can only see some light scuffs and scratches that may polish out. After so much effort to keep it in good nick and away from destruction hungry neds it's gets damaged by someone in my own family.

ah well

Bad luck on the battery and worse luck on the damage. Very Annoying.

Keep an eye on it though, I noticed when my front clam was hit that even 3 or 4 days after , the hairline cracks appeared and kept growing in the gel coat, on the other side of the clam.

Hope you gave her some  for not paying attention!

Oh I did! I probably won't be spoken to for a while.

Yeah I didn't even inspect the damage in the light today. How much did it cost for your repair out of interest?

Ross,

Mine was £££ as it was new clam, and paint, and it was on insurance. It could have been done for 1/3 of what the bodyshop charged my insurance if I had sourced a clam myself.

I would have thought any fibreglass repair and paint would still be about the 6-800 mark though.

ah well there is no way it is a new clam job it's just looks like a few lines of cracked paint and some scratches. It will probably just get left as it is :( it's not really noticable but I know its there! grrrrr
