The swedish work horse that my old man has doesn't seem to want to start. Volvo 940 2.0 T
As soon as you turn the key to turn it over the lights dim (headlights always on) which shows the battery is having all it's juice drained out of it to turn the starter motor, now this isn't a concern, the concern is that the starter motor doesn't even click into life, so where is all this power going, has the starter motor seized ???
What's your thoughts on this (NLC)

Try jump starting it. Charge up the battery and see if it will start there after. How long has it sat for? How old is the battery. Sounds like battery as first diagnosis. If so, Halfords can be very pricey for big car batteries (i.e circa £80 for my old BMW), let me know as I have a mate who runs a garage and will prob be cheaper.
Let me know if you need a hand, (I have big set of jump leads). I'll be around this afternoon. (07967 603033)

Dominic thanks for the offer it has been diagnosed as the starter motor, it's been stripped out and awaits either recon'd or a new one to be purchased, thanks again it's only taken 11 days to reply to your postDominic wrote:Try jump starting it.
