Noise on 'throttle back'

Sorry if this should be in 'Tek';
seems to be a great deal of reverberation within cabin on throttle back when the car (S1 135 'improved spec') is being driven 'positively'
seems especially so on motorways
seems to be coming from floor or /and behind cabin.
when driving hard then lifting off or dropping gears to take junction or roundabout there is very distinct and loud reverberation in cabin - much to the alarm of female passenger......
I know that they all can do this, but was wondering if it could be tamed? could a very thin (and its lightweight) rubber (it aint rubber but my dad used it in engineering to absorb shock and reverb) strips be fitted between undertray and body and between panel behind cabin....if you know what i mean? Or is this 'Drrriiing' noise something im stuck with? Apart from that, car is amazing.
thanks
