After watching Top Gear last night ( I would have the Zonda, then Ford, then Ferrari btw) zooming around France made me very jealous.
Got me thinking about Le Mans this year. OK, I'm waiting for Giles and Matt to say I moaned but only because we were not really prepared.
You need to be a Le Mans pro to really enjoy it. Take your sports car and have a friend/relative arrive in the camper van with hot water, comfy bed and stock of food/beer. I am not built for the camping!
Best thing about Le Mans was the driving of course. Arriving in Calais with awesome machinery and then heading through French towns exactly like the ones shown on TG last night. Then there was the driving along at some Tuts only to have 3 lambos hammer past you.
To top off the week was the drive home. Wake up around 3.30-4.00am, pack up, roof off and drive back to Calais with a sun rise and awesome weather. Arrive in Calais 3hrs or so too early but manage to get an early Ferry home. Wicked. We were last on.
Meanwhile I can only dream while looking out my office window at my car frosted over.
