Post by k12chu » Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:16 pm

need to replace the radiator for the S2 (under warranty). if i pay additional £100 they (Murray Motors) said they can source the upgrade (aluminium type). should i upgrade for that price?
or am i being taken for a good hand break turn? :?

I guess it depends which one they are putting in. The standard ali one is around £85 more on eliseparts and the other is aound £200! cheers Ed

I would go for the upgrade but make sure that they provide a warranty for it.

As long as it is a proper fully ali one then yes take them up on it. Reports suggest a lower running temp, it'll take a higher pressure and it will last longer :thumbsup

Just got mine done at the weekend there at JPS under warranty that came with the car when purchased at MMC. Dan replaced it for the all alloy one.

Temperature runs at exactly the same as before (85 deg cruising) but the heater now works better (hotter air.)

PM me regards the "upgrade costs."

If my sums are correct it's about £70 dearer than standard.

So they're charging £30 to source it.

I just sourced one in 30 seconds.

So that means they're charging @ £3600 per hour.
