CCTV Survey cameras

Post by Robbie » Sun Apr 08, 2007 8:34 pm

Does anybody know what the CCTV cameras marked "cctv survey cameras" before and after Aviemore are. They look like cctv cameras with ariels. Just to put my mind at ease

Dont worry, they are operated by BEAR Scotland to monitor traffic flow on the A9, and are not related to the police. As far as I know they are not linked to any form of ANPR either.

R055, that's exactly what I was afraid of. Kind of noticed them as a blurr when passing...

ruadh08 - That is a relief if they are to do with BEAR Scotland - was hoping it was something like that...but, er, what the *@#$ is ANPR now

Still be carefull I believe the mobile cam van hangs around there as being a passing lane its easy to pick off any one who is making a mad dash to get past that slow wagon before the lane closes , but does not brake harshly back to 60
