Exhaust ordered from 2bular

Post by kenny » Thu Mar 22, 2007 8:38 pm

Ok new exhaust ordered, went for the 7 x 22 inch silencer with either stage 2 style pipes or through diffuser but not sure what to get.

I like the noise of the Stage 2, I went for the 7x22 to suit 98db trackday noise regs. I would have gone for the ultra but that would mean changing it every quiet trackday. Not sure if I have made the right decision.

Chatted to Jim about the various styles that others had on the forum, I mentioned that I though Ali's sounded louder than Ed's although its the same 7x22 albeit Ed had thru diffuser pipes and Ali had stage 2 style. Jim reckoned it may be due to the angle hitting the ground to increase perceived bassy sound.

Would go for this but prefer the through pipe design, or do I just switch the order to the ultra and swap it for trackdays down south.

Tell me what to think

I want the Ultra so that's what I'd recommend :) but is there a chance that Knockhill could introduce similar noise regs in the near future? Maybe that's something to think about...

I went for the 7x16" Kenny. Jim said it would have more noise than the 7x22" but would probably still meet most trackday limits. I think he said the 7x18" would definitely meet trackday limits.

He said only the 7x22 would meet Donny drive by limit of 98 db, thinking I might change it, the 18 was 101 IIRC :?

Bugger even more confuzzled now, JJ gies a listen to your motor.

Kenny,
I also had Jim's highflow sportscat on mine would have made a difference...

Cheers,

Jim made me up a 7x26" to make sure that it passed Donnie's 98db, but unfortunately his manifold was touching the drive shaft, so he had to put it on hold.

I can come up and give you a hand. Held off to see what the situ is with mine, but can't do anything to it till monday, need to get nuts and bolts for the cat from work. Don't think the neighbours would take to me revving it with no silencing at all
