I've read quite a few moans about having to use authorised Lotus dealers when warranty work is needed. My radiator is in need of retirement and I have the 3rd party warranty that came with the car when I bought it from MMC.

After a bit of discussion with the warranty company they have agreed that Dan can do the repair. Cheaper for them, better for the car.

Doubt this would be the case for original Lotus warranty though but worth remembering you have a choice.

James, are you going to get an all alloy radiator? I would cough up the difference yourself if you've got the cash spare, otherwise it will just fail again, and again, and again ...

Yes. Will be doing that. Its a no brainer. Thanks for the heads-up though. Some people might not know about that little gotcha. (The standard rads leak at the plastic end caps, refitting with a direct replacement means it will happen again in a couple of years - the all alloy ones are a proper fix.)
