reversing sensors?
reversing sensors?
Without getting into the argument about great drivers dont need them etc etc!
Anyone got a reverse sensor which works well? I know you can get some which dont need drilling and are a strip along the inside of the bumper?
Any advice or recommendations?

I've not been in a car which needs them less than the Elise - barring maybe a Panda or something. I'm not having a go at your driving, but really - the top of the ducktail is really the end of the car, so you have the perfect reference.

Never needed one in the Elise but the Exige is difficult to see/judge.
I have seen a strip type sensor mounted inside the rear clam which was said to work really well. I think it was Wilsons Lotus/Subaru down south.
Could always open the door and sit on the sill while reversing - Lambo style...
Cheers,
Ali

I love gadgets so had bought a set of reversing sensors from Woolworths for £20 during my 4 month wait for the delivery of my new Elise. Fitting it in my garage was going to be hard so I thought they would be handy. In fact a piece of timber on the floor did fine as I knew I was backed as far as I could when my rear wheels came into contact with it.
However the sensors didn't go to waste and I later fitted them to my Discovery. I found it easier and quicker to reverse using them so maybe thay can make you go quicker, well in reverse anyway. As far as I can remember the only wiring was into the reversing lights. Not sure where you could mount them on an Exige but certainly I had found a couple of possible spots when I was thinking of fitting them to my Elise.

Fair enough mate - didn't realise you had an Exige. Apologies.xtreme wrote:Its for an exige, which has a big difference in visibility levels compared to an elise, andthere are reasons why I asked the question!Without getting into the argument about great drivers dont need them etc etc!
