Been looking at a house just outside Cupar and wondering if anyone lives in/near Cupar or knows much about the area.

Any pointers welcome

Thanks. Going back up over the weekend (inc mother-in-law!!) to have a look around. Seems like a really nice place. Not sure about the drive to work though...Castlecary... I'm guessing about an hour.
Any idea what the schools are like?

The Schools are very good. My young lad attends Bell Baxter secondary School. He is achieving very well. The primary schools are ment to be very good as well. The Estate where i live is only 5 mins walk away from the seconadry school, and the sports center is just over the road. As well as the playing fields just behind, with a skate board park, and BMX track for the kids. I originally came from Baberton in Edinburgh, before joining the RAF, and have found Cupar to be a grat place to settle in. Its a lot quieter than Edinburgh, but then again Edinburgh is specail.

I live in Cupar as well and have done so for about 10 years. Before that I only lived 6 miles away so attended Bell Baxter.
It's a pretty good place to stay with no real problems other than a bit of a town centre congestion .
There are hundreds of new houses such as mine and Stew's most having been built in the past 10 years.
The house prices are a bit high with many silvertops now choosing to retire here.
A little bit short on good places to eat and generally I choose to go to nearby St Andrews for a bite to eat (about 7 miles).
Castlecary might be a bit of a chore for a commute though. I would think at least an hour each way perhaps quite a bit more duting busy times.

There are a lot of very nice villages surrounding Cupar and if you are looking at a house in one of these, you probably wont go far wrong.

Hey ngaff1,

I lived in cupar for 20 years, and the folks still live there, all in all its a great place to live, Dundee 20 mins away, edinburgh 40 and St. Andrews just along the road It is avery peaceful place and the town center is almost big enough to get anything you want.

Old boy teaches at Bell Baxter, i went there myself and its generally a good place with decent teachers who care about thier subjects

Decent Rugby team just over the road from the high school, who have cater for all age groups and IIRC there are young uns football as well as a senior team.

Although i think it is one of the fasted rising placed for house prices at the mo, so maybe buy quick
