Car just got hit by a guy in a van in our car park at work. I was turning left into a space from the single-lane than runs right round the car park, and he tried to overtake (into the empty marked parking spaces) and hit my front nearside wing as he tried to stop   .

From what I can see there's no visible damage but there was a helluva crunch when he hit me.

He's claiming he didn't hit me at all and that it was just the noise of his tyres skidding that we heard. There were several other people in the car park at the time and although no one saw anything the people I've spoken to so far describe the sound as "metal hitting metal".

There may be video footage of the incident depending on whether the security camera was pointing in the right direction at the time.

I have his details and was planning to go to MMC and have them check the car over first thing before I do anything else.

So far it's been one of those weeks I'd rather forget    .

Cheers
Craig

If he overtake you on the left as you were turning left and only just touched you, he may well have hit the wheel rather than the body work?

it is possible it was just the wheel he hit. similar thing happened to me when a bus hit me - no visible damage at all but for some reason my tyre kept deflating.

could still have screwed your steering alignment? tracking etc and possibly your alloy too.

also check that there's no damage or tiny cracks in the fibreglass? You were in the Elise right?

He's just clearly saying there was no collision because he knows it's his fault. Overtaking in a carpark on a single lane!!!

Did you get contact details from the witnesses who heard the "metal against metal"?

Hope you get it sorted. :thumbsup

now that i can see it in the daylight paint scraped off the wheel arch/defendall where the van hit.

just back from MMC. steering alignment slightly out but no other damage. guesstimate for paint, defendall and re-alignment ~eight hundred notes  .

time to phone the culprit
