I need to buy a handsfree car kit for my other car. (the one I can actually hear the phone in )
My old bluetooth earpiece died a while ago and the recent change by THE GOVERNMENT says i will get 3 points and 60 quid charge!

I quite fancy one of those bluetooth units like the parrot one.

anyone have any alternatives/ experience with these?

Neil (NOOPS 160) has one surgically installed , seems to work well.

and not before time. I can spot folk on mobile phones so easily so don't know why the Police don't catch more. They start to drive slightly slower, though still staying in the middle/outside lane and weave slightly touching the lane markings. Skye and I often play spot the mobile phone numpty and we score very well. Anybody that thinks they can drive and use a mobile at the same time is a danger to other roads users and its about time the government got tough on them. I have had a few near misses when mobile phone users have not noticed traffic lights etc. quite a few years ago my Cousin was killed while crossing a road at traffic lights by a numpty on a mobile phone.

Even with a bluetooth headset your concentration is still affected while talking on the phone. I would imagine that some of these bluetooth handsfree units still would get you to divert your eyes from the road to check the number of who's calling or to press buttons. Anyway all better than farting about with the keypad on a mobile I would hope. Here are some more options:

Have used the jabra one for some years now. Stuck with the brand since the wried ones for my 5210 Nokie as they provide several gel earpieces to fit different lugs.

Couldn't agree more Skyenet. I've seen some shocking driving by folk on their mobiles. I've also had to shout at a few of my friends who think it's okay to text while driving!

I use a plantronics bluetooth headset. It's rubbish, so don't get one of them Ross! I only use it when I'm on call for work.

i did use the sony ericsson bluetooth headset (HBH300) for sometime. wasnt too happy with the sound quality, but it looked damn cool!

check out the new in-dash mp3 players for the car. some of them have a built in bluetooth to pair ur mobile phone. u can receive and make calls from the player itself. while listening to music, if u receive a call, the music goes on pause mode and the speaker takes over the call.
