I've had the 111R for 6 months now and looking to to add a few toys during the year. What upgrade path do you guys recommend?
Thought of tyres and pads first but understand 48's need exige wheels. Can these be picked up 2nd hand or is there an alternative?
Pagid pads seem to be the weapons of choice which model of the RS4-2 do you recommend? Best to change brake fluid at same time?
Hurricaine induction kit was on the list but seems they can give problems with the MIL?
Exhaust. any recommendations? Hoping to do a few track days south of the border this year so want good performance/sound without getting bombed at the tracks for being too loud.
Got the bike and trainers out yet again so hope the reduction in waist size will help as well. Damn hard giving up the beer though

Exhaust - 2bular
48s if you're going to track, junks off SELOC is selling rims with 48s for £1k I think.
Induction - might be a problem with MIL but it's not proven.
Geary from Eliseparts said he doesn't think it causes it.
To be honest, I'm still weary as it's a PITA for me to go to Eddy to get MMC to clear the fault.
RS42s if your in for trackdays or fast road driving.
Totally agree...I'm really mod hungry!!

48s are the way forward
Look out for either Exige wheels (£800) or the lighter forged wheels (look on Exige.com, PHs & SELOC)
I would recommend at least going for Exige suspension (which can be got 2nd hand when Exige owners trade up to adjustable items) (£400)
Or go for one way adjustable Nitrons (around £950)
Dont go for RS14s they seem sometimes to have a bit of an issue with the ABS RS 42s work very well without doubt change your fluid you must put some decent fluid in or you will boil it! Castrol SFR is the best in the biz by far.
Zaust wise you cant get better than 2bular Jim makes some great zausts with a range of sizes, styles and noise levels to suite all!
I would stay away from induction kits - some peeps have no issues, some have really bad issues...)

There's a set of Team Dynamics for the S2 as far as I'm aware (there's a bunch on Pistonheads doing a group buy for around £500). In black, they look similar to the OZ chappies. They can wear the A048's, but not sure if the need any special fitment for the Toyota S2 or not.
I have no signature.

Also keen to get an induction kit for my car. I got the following email from PTP. There was a set of Exige wheels on Pistonheads recently but not sure if they're still there.
Dear Neil
The ITG kit is listed for pre October 05 Elises, this is because they changed the throttle to fly by wire, this meant that the hoses used in the original kit were not correct for the new throttle body. ITG have been working on an induction kit for the Exige Mk2, and will shortly be starting work on the Induction kit for the Elise 111R Oct 05 onwards.
Please keep watching our website for further developments

Kind Regards
Richard Watson.

MMC said they had had to take induction kits back off the more recent cars.
Hopefully not too much longer to wait.

Change the exhaust and brakes just now, you'll certainly notice the difference with new pads and the exhaust will make it sound like the sports car it is. Don't bother with the 48s yet, you haven't done that many track days and you've only had it 6 months so learn to get more out of the car as it is standard before changing and you'll appreciate them more

SFR is good but bloody expensive for what it is.
Try super racing blue from Euro Car parts - about £12 for a 1l can and it's the dogs.
Quite a few of the faster elises are using it now (and DDtB)

i went for stage 2 exhaust and pagids.
if i were to do it again, i would either keep the exhaust the same or go for stage 1 or the tubular thingo.
pagids made a great difference on track, tho i never found the stds that bad really, just the pagids are wow
i would get harnesses
lotus now do an update to the ecu for the yota to lower the change over to 5750 revs (or there abouts).
might be handy? 700 quid ish i think, or 350 with a supplied ecu (whatever the difference is)

After much research yesterday, induction is really to be avoided.
