It says free entry to events rather than a free trackday, and probably restricted to Hot Chav or whatever the hot hatch is rebranded as.

Yes Sir, here's you 3 points, £60 fine and free entry to watch sheds wipe each other out and fat munters whip their baps out.

Still I suggest Ed nails it down the esplanade at 100+ Tuts to find out. :D

"Pc Paul Thomson said the initiative would allow drivers to show off their cars and test skills in a safe setting".

Apart from that ambiguous quote, there is nothing in that article confirming that they will actually be allowed on track. Might it just be that they will be given free spectator access to events, where they can show off their cars whilst parked in the car park?

Allowing them on track is likely to enourage more dangerous driving. What the politicians and police fail to understand is that a sensible, responsible mindset is not instilled in neds by a few laps of knockhill, who will falsely believe that they are now better equipted to drive faster.

Think of team gimp (or whatever they called themselves) as an example of the average boy racer allowed on track....

Novice, you took the words right out of my mouth . . . !

This will only encourage them to drive even faster and more dangerously on the roads! I'm sure there are better things they could do rather than give them access to an environment where they can drive faster than on roads . .. perhaps give them a free IAM membership and test?

I'm really lost for words, it beggars belief that the money I pay in taxes is being used by the local constabulary to hand out free passes to chav scum in Novas for a motorsport venue that costs me a sizable sum to use myself :(

Im off down the prom now to see if i can blag a couple of free passes by turning donuts in the carpark!
