Hello Mr Fraser, kinda galling that you went to the hassle to please all of the people all of the time, and a forum got set up anyway!!!

Like I said on SE Yahoo - this might stop the grumbling about drivel, with any luck.

I'll bet you got yourself a big shiny badge made with "Kiss me! I'm a Forum Administrator" on it!

I hope the board catches on this time, hence I'm here to add support to the numbers (and noise to signal ratio)!

A few things though (without pissing on your fire too much!) I reckon you'll need a domain name pointed at this silly url, to make moving the site from host to host easier at a later date.

Also, check now if you can take backups of this board through the admin interface. If you can, start archiving weekly in case this host goes tits up. Check if the host already does this for you, and if so check if they will give you access to your data dumps or not (chances are they won't to discourage you from going elsewhere...).

If you want me to sort out some (pop-up free) webspace you can control and a domain name at PlusNet Towers, let me know...

Thank you sir. Technical input well appreciated. I'll check on what you've mentioned tonight. I was already thinking of a cheapie domain name, to aid memory, but we'll see if it takes root first.

If it's a goer, we'll deffo go to Plusnet - can't imagine a better option wrt service and the 'man-on-the-inside' factor

PS - The badge actually says "Kiss my 'Administrator'" But I'll let you off

Actually, just checked. Database is backup-able. Will D/L tonight and store in the midst of my special interest collection, for safety.
