PDK in snow

Just out of interest (I'll probably never buy one).
I was taught how to drive in poor conditions in a manual and have no problems.
Most older style auto boxes struggle, so how do PDK cars behave in snow?

Nudge the selectah in and out of N. The creep feature can be enough to get the car nudging along or rocking etc as per manual + “dipping clutch”

There’s a lag for engagement so you have to practise the timing but it works.

Crossclimates or Winters as well, natch

Switch the stability control off usually does it, otherwise the car cuts power as soon a wheel starts to slip.

Not PDK/DSG but I find sticking my BMW auto in eco mode helps too. Softens the throttle response.

Fit winter tyres though and you don’t need to worry, even with an auto.

This was a godsend. Got stuck in the snow in the golf, traction killed the power, and reading this tip got me out of a tight spot. Many thanks :thumbsup

Managed to try the Octy vRS DSG and Michelin CrossClimates on snow and pack ice just before the thaw. Did good. Right where’s the next snow storm!

It’s all in the tyres. Even with pros. Bottas as fast as LH over 1 lap then shreds his tyres in the race .
