Feel sorry for all the staff to be honest when that happens.
Suppose its the way of the world now when you are trying to compete with the big boys for mainstream manufacturers.
Was just in the showroom at the weekend and got no indication that this was going to happen so suspect majority of staff were unaware.

Sad news indeed

Hopefully the Lotus site is an attractive proposition for a buyer being the only one in Scotland.

Is the volume of Lotus sales by Leven enough to justify the cost for a showroom by someone taking it over?
Don't know the turnover but must be very a small figures nowadays

Lotus and Aston sales are not great across the UK as a whole. How many Elises are sold these days vs 20 years ago, not too many. Sadly. I hope there is a buyer and no job losses .

fingers crossed jobs will be saved. but car dealers aren't faring up well right now and its gonna get worse as everyone waits for BrExit, electrimification etc etc.

Shocking news and really feel for the staff who have been affected. Let’s hope it is sold on as a going concern and they keep their jobs.

I wonder what Lotus plan to do with the Franchise.
Not sure if it will automatically transfer to any buyer?

Unless a buyer is getting the full site I don’t see it being desirable as a stand-alone within a corale of other showrooms and Lotus is fairly niche for the likes of Arnold Shark to be interested and that is possibly the type of buyer of a multiple brand site. ( to turn into another car supermarket)

Remember Arnold Shark now has Alpine which is fairly niche (as everyone knows Alpine is a sub brand of Renault).
Maybe they could sit it under another Geely manufacturer they have?
I was in the Aston showroom on Saturday, problem another buyer will have is that to keep with Aston identity there needs to be a major investment in the showroom to get it up to scratch, doubt any small/medium sized car dealer would not want to invest millions for a possible minimal return?

A very good point. Great shame for all the innocent bystanders involved.

Got quite the surprise this morning when I saw that!
My car had been there for warranty work for past few weeks... had a very worrying day when I read the news.
I couldn't get anyone on the phone till lunch time, was told no cars were allowed to leave the site, I had to email to get my car back,l etc.... I managed to get a hold of an administrator with the help of one of the girls that works for Leven. They said I could come get but it needed to be before 5.
They have lots of extra security!!!!! looks like all the cars were marked whether dealer or customer, looked to be a handful of their customer cars but not too many.
