Unstoppable force vs immovable object.

The immovable force was our one hundred year old gate post.

The unstoppable force, a stolen Seat Ibiza (and four drunk neds/nedettes).

The venue Saturday, 2am, Kilmarnock. A supporting cast of a tree and a lampost tried to discourage the Seat's determination to test it's strength but the tree barely stood a chance. The lampost fell quickly too but pulled a flanker by causing the Seat to barrell roll through the air.

The Seat fought well early on and nearly uprooted the first gatepost (!$%£!) and completely demolished the second one and knocking off some bits of sandstone which although they may look small in the photo they are much too heavy to lift. But it was all in vain, the lamp post had done it it's job - that barrel roll was to be the Seat's downfall. That and driving into a few tonnes of stone at 90mph after being stolen.

It landed on it's roof and the fight was all over and all that was left was for the neds and nedettes to prise themselves free and run off. (OK technically one of them was prised free and rather than run off was carried off unconcious by her mates.)

The neds may have been caught, the Seat is dead and as for the gateposts, well their future is in the hands of the masons now.

My wife always goves out to me for driving conservatively on M ways then speeding up for roundabouts, and generally driving in a reckless manner on country roads.

Yes, and it is now available as an autotest project car I believe. We need to do a little bit of work on it to get the charging system sorted (this could involve a portable battery boost pack and some jump leads ....).

Cheers,
