Scottish Elises

Having owned several K series cars I have notices that my S2 111s is quite tappety at tickover, sounding like a mild diesel.

I have heard that the VVC is noisier than the non VVC, is this so or should I be cautios and go back to the dealer

It's true.
I test drove a 111s last week and on idle it sounded tapety.
Don't worry.
