SIDC PAX height and age restrictions

Post by rawsco » Fri Mar 17, 2017 6:38 pm

Hi folks does anyone know if there are any age and height restrictions for PAX at Knockhill? I've donated a couple of pax laps on 25th to my local squash club raffle to raise money for the junior equipment and coaching etc just need to know if pax is open to the juniors.

Very difficult to lay down absolutes with the differences in size age/boy girl, so I think they work on whether a seat belt safely fits them.

If in doubt get a Marshaller to check in the pits.

Thanks Tut, I'll mibby suggest a minimum of 5foot Laura is slightly smaller and she is fine.

And no, no you can't have them, Tut! ;-)

My first wife was only 5ft, but don't worry Ross they are completely safe.

ps:- Did I ever tell you how I covered part of Jimmy Saville"s John o'Groats to Lands End walk in 1970 in a Sioux when I was in 40 CDO RM? He invited me to one of his evenings parties.

Ross

KH have a height measuring gauge next to the checkin desk, last time I checked in there was s couple of disappointed kids. Might be worth giving them a quick call.

I meant that you weren't getting them to terrorise them with the infamous Tut harum-scarum pax lap experience :damnfunny

My son aged 11, 145cm, was allowed out in the Elise last year without any issues.

A bigger problem was finding a crash helmet that fitted. We arrived late and all the small & medium sizes had gone from the helmet store.

While the seat belt fits fine he ended up sitting on a cushion so that he could actually see out the front of the car.

I may need to book on for the next SIDC event now ;-)

I confirmed with Knockhill (didn't have the opportunity prior to the draw at the club hence asking on here) there is no minimum age, there is a minimum height of 135cm.

That's exactly what we're doing after this thread popped up. Needs family attendance though to entertain while Daddy's getting so laps in. ;-) So we're going to aim for one of the evening SIDC track events. :-D

I took my lad last year, no issues after a chat with marshals.
135cm used to be the height for kids in the front seat of a car (based on ergonomics of the inertia reel working).
As harnesses do not rely on the inertia wheel to work, they will favour any size and shape.
