Never really understood what people pay a fortune to get their cars detailed though....to the point when you drive it home and your visually back to square one.

But each to their own.

Never used their services myself but that's a lot more than detailing with protection film etc applied.

Was always going to be using Polished Bliss to detail my 964 but each time I had it booked in, a couple of months prior a big bill would arrive for the car which meant I could not afford to get it done.

Always been a fan of their work and bought a number of products from them.

Car looks exceptional but you would expect that type of finish after its been to see Polished Bliss, complete masters of detailing.

The XPEL film provides amazing stone chip protection and general scratch resistance (the videos online of guys rubbing their paintwork with pan scourers and then "washing" away the scratches with warm water is amazing).... and the quartz coating lasts for up to 5 years and is very effective at preventing bird poo/ tar build up/ general marking of the paint.

In actual fact because Ive had this work done Ill probably use the car more often in more inclement weather knowing that I've done all I can to protect the paint whilst also making the inevitable clean up operation about 1/4 the time it would normally be (quick hose down with snow foam and a rinse and the car "dries" itself).

When I collected it on Sunday I went for a 60-70 mile drive up to Huntly and back over to Aboyne. The snow had just gone and the roads were filthy.... 5 mins with a hose back at the house and the car looked just as it does in the pics.

The film application is interesting Tony, I am not interested in detailing as such, but now that N3 has had a complete re-spray and will come up for sale depending on my timeline, it would make sense for it not ending up looking like N1.

I was going to check on Armourfend or Defendall but you report on the film fitted by Polished Bliss looks like an alternative. Could you pm me the details please to see if it is something I could look at. Will now have to put up with the ribbing at tut contemplating having his Elise detailed.

I have had both Armourfend and Defendall on previous cars. Both did the job very well. I think the Defendall is a bit thinner. From what I have read Xpel is the one to have now but it is expensive.

The car looks fantastic. Am I right in thinking there are a couple of SEers now who have gone from a V6 Exige to Cup 250? Curious to know how the driving experience compares.

I had the Paintshield self-healing film fitted to my Ultima.
They sent me a sample of it and I was hitting it with a hammer and denting it with screwdrivers then pouring warm water over it and watching it go back to normal. All very clever stuff but, at nearly £3k, was expensive.

What do you mean? 'A fortune'? Surely people don't pay more than £20, £30 tops?

My point wasn't about the film which is a good idea on such and expensive car... i personally wouldn't bother with a detail but maybe it's just me as I'm not huge in to cleaning cars. I know a guy who had his car detailed there a few years ago and it was close to 2 grand without the film protection.

Will do Tut..... I have to say - I'm not a fan of detailing either... but anything which 1) protects and keeps the car looking the best it can and 2) reduces cleaning time - is a winner in my book
