Toureg - any thoughts?

Hi Guys

Just been offered a really good deal on the Toureg 3.0 tdi and toying with it for company usage, with the new Glasgow venture opening. (2nd car, 111r isn't used much during the week, and the Smart is no longer big enough!!)

Cash wise the deal is genius, but does anyone have any experience of these? Its being used to haul a lot of kit and mobile office from time to time.

Was looking at the new Disco but this deal is much much better, and more suited to my needs for the next 12 months.

Any thoughts?

Last Edin beer i was slated for wanting one but still do.

All I knwo is that you can pull trees up with them, HTH.

A mate of mine has one, no complaints that I'm aware of, he's got an X5 now and the wife has the Toureg, but don't let that put you off :lol:

No idea what the Toureg is like, but it has to be better than the new disco. I have driven one and was pretty unimpressed. It is spectacularly gutless,
no doubt due to its absurd 2500kg - over 300kg more than the Range Rover. How does that work?

Never driven one but my boss has one and it's hideous. I've actually chosen to walk over getting in it. It weighs nearly 3 tonnes ffs!

Prolly as it has 2 chasis - a RR one and a Disco one :shock:

I'd gofor one Mr G - tis a cayenne in Vee-Dub clothing. I think they're really nice and if I was ever buying the wife a Chelsea tractor, I'd go for that over any of 'em.

Was in a Volvo XC90 yesterday, well 2 of them actually, one a diesel doing a bit of off-roading, and on road in a new V8, quite impressed by both, although they would get stuck off-road long before my Jeep :roll:

Also had a blast in a V70 R quote genial all things considered :)

But back on subject, if it's a very good deal Andy, go for it, you can always sell it on if unhappy with it.

My wife had a Touareg and it was the worst pile of sh*t ever created...we rejected it due to shocking and dangerous reliability issues and crap dealer support.

If you think I am alone read the mytouareg board and see for yourself.

Seriously though I saw a Project Kahn RR Sport Supercharged in George St a couple of weekends ago and it looked the biz. Don't know if it could ever be justified though :?:
