Smart Repair...

Any recommendations of a company for smart repair in Central Scotland? Are Chips Away a decent bet?

A rogue stone has taken paint a door on the S2k - about the size of a shirt button and down to the primer :( No dent thankfully.

Cheers

Alistair

We use Chips away regularly at work to fix dents in generator housings and some of the fleet. The guy that has the franchise here, Milngavie, is very good.
I used a guy in the Southside, and he wasn't so good.
It really depends on the franchisee.
Good luck

Looks like Niall Georgeson is the local franchisee near here - https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/niallgeorgeson/

I'll give him a shout and see what he says

Alistair,

Please let me know how you get on as I have a small indentation on the arch of the TT that would be good to get rid of :)

Hey George

I got some really good advice from Niall - and his thoughts are that as the car is light silver that an "invisible" repair wouldn't really work - and he didn't want to pretend that it would. The best he could do for this (very large) stone chip would be to paint most of the door and blend in the colour, coming in at around £180. If I was keeping the car I'd think seriously about it, however the car is up for sale so I'm going to touch it up with some OEM silverstone paint I've located and take it from there.

I can't vouch for his work obviously - but I can for his advice and not being too pushy - he even offered to apply the touch up paint I've got for free if I took the car up to him - so top marks for that.

I certainly wouldn't hesitate to consult with him again.

Cheers

Alistair
