Car Shopping Misery

Post by rawsco » Wed Jan 25, 2017 4:55 pm

Its time to replace Miniblondes A1. With Dog v2.0 on the way the micro boot just wont cut it. however today has been a frustrating day...

I've called 4 BMW dealers about previous gen X5s advertised across the UK and all of them mysteriously sold today. I know dealers typically advertise sold/nonexistent stock but I didn't know it was as bad. Now I just canny be arsed. I shortlisted several and would have bought one today but all of them sold just 'moments' ago.

I don't know how far you want to travel/how much you want to pay but give these guys a try -

http://www.morrisonmotors.co.uk/

Virtually every used BMW in Aberdeen has got their plates on them and according to the website they have 3 in stock.

I have bought cars from the in the past and I've never had any problems.

Wow A1 to X5 is quite a jump lol

Go for a 3 series touring instead, I have the 330d X drive with a Border Collie and 2 kids and it's perfect.

I originally had the larger of the 2 cars but that went for the Lotus and we've been waiting for the finance on the A1 to break even. I do the like the 3 series touring but Miniblonde thinks estate cars are for old people and is digging in her heels despite an X5 technically being an estate. Today there appears to be some give with respect to an S4 Avant as long as its not white or red  so that leaves only the metallic blue out of the S4 colours that we both like (I love the misano Red black edition)...

Cheers for the recommendation on Morrison Motors, I'll keep an eye out.

James at Kintore car sales is a big used BMW fan and a dab hand at car sourcing too,

Tell him I sent you.

Also - inverurie autocentre to a LOT of car sourcing, probably way more than what they sell off the forecourt - a few of my pals buy all their business vehicles through Stuart there.

Our Kenny (FlyingScot) is in the area for work these days, you might persuade him to take a look for you. He could even drive it home when he's up weekends :-)

S4 Avants & 3-Series Tourings are far too common.... there are some much better alternatives! :cheers
