Collectible, desirable, but a Sport 135 is friendlier, more useable and rarer.

I can't understand how any 160 could be worth £29k?

Woody has one. In bits. Yours for £15k?!

Oh I dunno.

If this one is worth £26k then maybe that's the going rate.

Suppose it might be helpful that neither seller is in any rush to sell and would be happy to keep it. ;)

I'm buying something in the spring.

Needs to be able to convey my son and I to Spa Francorchamp without hard shoulder niggles :damnfunny

With the prices people are asking for even run of the mill old stuff (have you seen the price of Mark 1 Mexico/RS1600s?) It's not surprising. Also talking up the price of old cars has been going on for years.

If you look around there are very few unmolested S1s out there (last time i was at a trackday of the seven (IIRC) S1s there, 6 had Honda engines).

But the rule is the same as always - if you think it's too dear don't pay it :)

PS I know where there is a one owner very early Elise (1998 i think) - it's not for sale though.

I suspect the cheapness won't be 'much' enough to suit me :damnfunny

I have perhaps confused "cheapness" with "value".

Astonishing value.

Remember quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten..

(And where will you find a Lotus more carefully looked after? Not to mention Campbell drives like my mum!)
