Dry ice in Glasgow

Hi, I'm trying to remove sound reasoning on a fiesta race car project, Id seen a YouTube video using dry ice which looks the easiest way to do this. I've found a company called BOC but it seems quite expensive and difficult to order for the quantity I want, (10kg) so thought I'd see if anyone has any contacts. Broken bits are probably fine and I can pay cash and pick up.

Tried a theatrical shop?
I'm sure we used to buy the pellets and hire a big metal bucket many years ago.
We used to pour the pellets into the bucket and close the lid, then take the lid off when the smoke/fog was required.
of course H&S might mean you need a fog machine these days.........

Or an AV /presentation company that might use it for display work. Someone like a Cameron Communications or Sound and Vision.

We get ours from boc by the pallet load, but it's not something I could help with. There may be an engineering company that could help though?

by BOC that will be the British Oxygen Company, used to be famous years back and had hundreds of trucks on our roads, wonder what happened to them, probably owned by Chinese or Malaysians or EU's by now.

Can't help with the original questions but I have just watched a video on Youtube, it looks a great technique.
I've spent many many days with a heat gun and scraper crawling around in Fiesta's and Mini's
Good weight saving though

If you are getting serious get a wiring diagram and dissect the wiring loom, there's a lot of weight in there- interior lights, rear wiper, seat belt sensors, heated seats, speakers, heated rear window, central locking, petrol cap release, arial, stereo etc etc all comes out but the wiring remains.

Still very much on the go. Most medical facilities who don't make their own get cylinders from them as well as liquid nitrogen for cryo facilities.
Sorry, thread drift.

It certainly looks easier with the dry ice. I've asked some friends who are doctors and have access to dry ice but haven't heard back yet. It's possibly not worth them getting caught on security cam loading dry ice into my car. I'm getting a cage welded in on Monday so will get the bits of for the roll cage points with a heat gun tonight. Will still be looking as there is a lot to come off so if anyone can help please let me know. I am willing to pay if required or make a donation to a charity so nobody could be accused of theft of company property. I think I need about 10kg in total.

On the subject of car weight loss - what are you planning to use the car for? Perspex windows (side & rear) can help save a load of weight and also help with centre of gravity. Buy the perspex and cut it yourself, it's a fairly cheap mod. Also, you can get handy with an angle grinder - cut out inner door skins. All depends if you are using the car for motor sport and what the rules allow.

It's to race at Knockhill in a one make fiesta series for mk6 05-08 st's. There are mounts you can take off for the rear seats and you can cut away certain parts in the rear three quarter section inside. I've got the parts to remove the air con which required a shorter belt and replacement idler wheel and you can remove the heater as it has an electric heater screen.

I tend to find that sounds deadening is best removed with a blow torch, heat till soft (doesn't take much) allow to cool and it goes brittle/hard, chips off the same way as it would with dry ice.
best of luck with the series, Hamish Smart is a good buddy of mine, I was drivers rep - not sure if he still is?
