Can anyone recommend an indian restaurant in Edinburgh centre, preferably close to the royal mile.
And can you recommend a nice traditional pub too not to far from the indian

Mother India is very good.

I'd second Mother India and suggest a visit to the Jolly Judge for beers afterwards which is a good old traditional boozer; it's not too far from the castle, I reckon it'll be less than a 10 minute walk from Mother India.
There are plenty of other pit stops you can make en route if you're looking to mix it up a little.
