Charity Trackday - Auction Prizes Wanted!

Post by Shug » Fri Jul 29, 2016 5:00 pm

The return of the big bad Charity Trackday is a definite - going to announce the date in a few days once everything is 100% confirmed. :thumbsup

One thing we're on the scrounge for, however, is Auction Prizes for the charity auction following the event. In previous years we've had a host of money can't buy things like tours of RAF bases, commissioned paintings, etc and it would be great if we could get some stuff donated again. We're, of course, press ganging suppliers and contacts into whatever they can give us, but in previous years the star lots have actually been donated by other SE member and have raised some pretty serious sums.

The Charity this year will be Save The Children - something pretty close to both Andy and my hearts.

If you've never heard of this event - in previous years, it's been run as the AMP3 charity track day and the format is a two hour trackday on a Friday afternoon for sneaky half days at the end of the week, followed by a BBQ/Beers/Auction event somewhere in Edinburgh that Friday evening. Always a superb blast, always good banter and we've been lucky enough (thanks to SE being the generous lot you are) to raise some serious sums on the night. Think our record was £26K in one day!

Date TBC very very soon - evening location also TBC very very soon. You can attend one or both - if you can't get out of work, you can certainly come join for the Auction - it's a proper laugh. Costs etc to attend TBC very soon also! Wanted to get this out first, so we could get people blagging some awesome auction lots so we can make as much for Save the Children as possible.

I am happy to donate a microlight flight from Perth and be flexible about what we do or where we go. Something like a flight over Knockhill then over the Forth bridges for some pics then skimming the beaches around the East Neuk of Fife up to Crail then over the Old Course at St Andrews and RAF Leuchars then over Dundee and back down the Tay to Perth. Would take about 90 mins and cost around £200ish.

I have a mate with heavy lifting gear... ok, a flexwing with a bigger wing. Think "Thunderbird 2" to my "Thunderbird 1" :)

I imagine if the winner wanted, I could arrange a low level double act with my mate ... ;)
