F1 Qualifying

Post by C7Steve » Sat Mar 19, 2016 8:06 am

What was that all about?

Minutes left and all the drivers are sitting in the pits :scratch

Clearly needs some polish as a format, but for me they have taken something that works and replaced it with something that was never going to work.

I think what could work would be to let driver's finish laps, and maybe to wipe the times for each elimination, but at that 90 second wouldn't be enough. For me, it's add I said when it was first announced, someone has been playing too much Need For Speed on PlayStation, where eliminated cars essentially disappear, and tyres don't deteriorate!

Surprise, surprise, the four quickest cars came 1,2,3,4.

They had to sit in the pits because they had run out of tyres due to the new system, so give them some more fcuking TYRES.

it really is laughable how dumb they can be.

Everybody in the team's told them it would be a stupid thing to do, and guess what? it was!

it's the same kind of crap from the so called working group that's given us the ugliest/stupidest cars ever IMHO.

only bit I laughed at was the faces on the Ferrari pit wall when Lewis crossed the line!

Poor effort. Changes to it for the next race weekend apparently.

I despair at the constant tinkering to try to make what has become a boring predictable series more exciting.
I propose:
Reverse grid from the last race
a race on both days of the weekend
unlimited tyres
Bernie to fcuk off
2015 Lotus Evora
2022 Polestar 2 LRSM Plus
2023 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline

Glad it's gone. Hopefully it doesn't come back in a slightly changed form throughout the year until the get it right. Qualifying isn't all that bad anyway.

The race wasn't too bad, the extra set of different tyres worked well, though I wonder if it would have worked well had there not been a red flag. Interesting that Ferrari were avoiding the harder tyre. It seems for a few seasons now that they have always been much stronger on softer tyres..

That lot couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag.

F1 is close to a global laughing stock right now.
