Evora S IPS

Post by tut » Sat Jan 23, 2016 8:47 pm

Just noticed this so put in a bid for £39K to stir it up, next highest is £35k.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2014-LOTUS-EV ... fresh=true

Obviously it will go for higher but not much on TV at present.

Tut you have a PM.

There a post on Lotus Forums about that car, may have had an accident or engine replacement. I have also seen that car somewhere else a few months ago ,must have been pistonheads or seloc but cannot find it. I would really want to know where it has come from and been.

Check the bids Campbell, I am top with £35,200.

Don't forget that it does not put £39K in, just £100 above the highest bid.

But reserve not met - so presumably reserve is >£39K? Or what am I missing?

It is listed on Auto Trader for £39,950.
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... &logcode=p

There is chatter about previous accident damage although not Cat recorded and a suggestion it had engine failure although if it was fitted with a new engine then that's a positive rather than a negative? ( other than it isn't 'original' which might make buyers wary).
The price does set off alarm bells though £10k less than you would expect, if it looks too good to be true.....

Correct Robin, that is why there is no chance of my bid being accepted.

Just interested to see what it goes for.

Tut, no doubt when the auction closes there will be some off list contact involving a Nigerian prince, a sum of $40,000,000 and Western Union. I suggest you snap up any such offer as these only come along once in a lifetime :-) :-) :-)

He has thirteen other nice cars on there and 100% feedback over a fair period, it is not "Buy it Now" at a silly figure and there is a reserve on it, so reckon he is genuine.

However it could easily be a CAT car that has not been mentioned yet, so if there is a winning bidder they would have to cover all the stops. Each time someone bids now mine will automatically go £100 higher up to its max, but they will not know what that is or the reserve price.

Is it not the case that if your bid is above the reserve it automatically goes straight to that If it's below the reserve it carries on as it was at (in this case) £100 increments. That being the case the reserve is still higher than Tuts maximum so must be just over £39k given the Autotrader price.
Unless the reserve gets lowered so it sells then :
