Pony express? Edinburgh to Aberdeen over festive period...

Post by Jam_s160 » Wed Dec 23, 2015 8:58 am

Anyone up for helping transport a retro mountain bike I agreed to buy of a fellow Scottish Elise member? Needs to go from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. I'm due back to Murrays early January for a super charger belt so will aim to pick up then at the same time. However if anyone is happy to do this for a few beer tokens (over the festive break) that would be ace!

Cheers
James

Yes, photo's please :D

When I was in the Lakes earlier this year the local bike shop had a lovely Pace RC100 on the wall... was very nice:)

Not very retro (yet) but I'm building back up my (actually my missus' but we 'share' it) 2003 Santa Cruz Chameleon - I sent the forks (2003 Fox Vanilla RLC's) to Mojo last month, but they said the stantions were worn thin and there were no replacement parts available for them so they were consigned to fork heaven  New forks in the Jan sales I guess!

Also, when in Jan are you heading down? I have a geo check on my car on Tuesday next week and if the news is bad it will be going to salvage but it still has my hardtop on and I don't want them taking that. If it does go belly-up would you be able to take my soft top down to CMC's so he can swap it over? I can arrange the hardtop to be taken up another time.

Paul.

Hi Paul, I should be able to help transport the softop but not the hard top. I'm slightly open time wise until Murrays source another super charger belt from Lotus. Surprisingly it's not a part they keep in stock sadly. :?

That would be great, thanks. Hopefully the car will still be straight and I won't need the roof taken down but will let you know next week. Cheers.

Dingbros have them James, just got mine from there. All you need is the length or number.

Hi Paul
Heading from Aberdeen to Glasgow on 31st if any use? Perhaps someone from Glasgow can collect it from me...

Also, if someone can get the hardtop to Glasgow and can drop it off with me
On the 2nd Jan - I can bring it back to Aberdeen

Thanks, I guess it would depend on whether anyone could get it from Glasgow to Edinburgh.

What route will you be taking roughly? As its about 1hrs drive from mine and I could meet you on route or at destination etc? Do you have space to carry a bike?
