They were becoming hard to get 10 years ago. Most of them rusted into oblivion. I don't suppose an RS1600i will be far behind either. But having had an RSTurbo, they were built to be driven like a loony. Museum pieces are all well and good, but those are so much fun to drive it seems a shame. :-)

RS1600i. The thinking man's XR3. Wish I'd had one. Lovely.

I can almost understand the RS500 going for £90k, but the Escort RS Turbo could never have been considered an iconic or capable car!

Interesting cars in their day but not exceptional.

Call me cynical but these and other over inflated cars of a similar era will prove to be a poor investment in the long term.
I doubt you'd buy an 80s or 90s Ford for the driving experience so I have no doubt that the next recession will see the values of the cars mentioned above fall through the floor.......Again, my humble opinion and I may be wrong but I would not be investing my cash in any of these.
Incidentally, I have no beef against Ford; when I was a lad at Uni I worked my ass off to get and loved my 1990 XR2i but it wasn't a patch on the 1994 Honda Civic I bought when I graduated, it was so much better in every way.

I went last time Jim, and I couldn't believe what a load of rubbish that was getting sold. From what I saw, it's a place to sell, not to buy! I wanted the stratos replica, but it started higher than my max bid!

Still a good day out though.
