S1 wiper blade / arm : borrow

Post by fd » Sat Sep 19, 2015 1:10 pm

Elise in for it's MOT on Monday - handily the wiper blade is the only thing that's not ready and I forgot about it.

Anybody in the Perth/Stirling/Doune area have one I can borrow for a day ?

My car has the original 2000 S1 wiper arm - not sure if it's the same as the early S2's ?

Bit further, I'm on the edge of Edinburgh near the bridge, but I have an original S1 arm with blade you can borrow.

Much appreciated . . I'm going to try a bodge with a wiper refill from halfrauds, if that doesn't pan out I will point you a pm and arrange to collect . .

Thanks again

That should work fine for MOT day. Then after you can go get an S2 arm to make life a lot easier. :)

Could borrow my S2 arm if needs be as mine isn't going anywhere soon and I'm not far from Stirling. Assuming the whole arm fits?

It rides a little high compared to the original but as long as you check the clearance on the front hatch before switching the wiper on for the first time, it will be fine. :)

24inch cheapo wiper blade from halfords, remove rubber bit and swap onto Elise blade, works as well as a new one . .

Thanks for the offers folks but problem solved for now . . :-)

We are away or I'd have offered mine, Fd.

I put an S2 arm on about a decade ago, and recently put in a Bosch aero twin blade with retro fit adapter.

Awesome wiping. As they say ;-)

A nice clean wipe is preferred over a dirty smear.
