Any guesses as to what it will go for?

This one certainly not owned by one of our regular tuff-luv drivers. Cloth seats and I would have thought wishful thinking.

hmm the years have not been kind.

My first car was a 1.3S in lime green with a comical lime green interior. It was free from my Grandfather and better than the bus, so an utterly brilliant car. Out of interest I just checked the spec, 61-63 hp depending on who you believe, 79ftlbs torque (can that be right?), 4 gears, rear drum brakes, 0-60 12.7s, 0-90 44s (surely irrelevant).

So things have certainly moved on in the last 35 years..............feeling old

Sounds like a C1/107/Aygo to me but with more sophisticated suspension and more torque...

Those look like old XR2 wheels on that.

My first road going car (I bought a 1973 mini that I never quite got up running when 16) was a 1.0 1985 B reg metro...in jobby brown. Adorned with extra spots and fogs to the front grill of course. :)

I added extra spots to my first car (ignoring the bangers before I was 17). Mk2 chavalier LX, with spots 8) .... or not so 8) Anyway, would I be right to say that it was essential practice for any petrolhead to fit a set of spots back then?

I had spots on the Fiesta 1.1L I shared with my Mum.

And both spots AND fogs on my XR2. Mates called it The Christmas Tree.

Indeed, a remarkably spacious vehicle given the exterior dimensions. I know for a fact you can get 2 full beehives in the back with the seats folded and yes they were full of bees.

The wheels shown were standard on the top models. My particular version was very well equipped and therefore needed no upgrades, I'm pretty sure it had a radio, a ciggy lighter and door pockets - so pretty much the full options pack.

If you are looking for Metro, it has to be this one, with up to 800bhp on tap and spits flames on the over=run :)

Nice, I was going to put a 6R4 kit on my 1.3l. But it was bent in Hal by a speeding police car.

I loved my gti. It was way faster than all the local nova gte's

I've got an '83 Citroen as a toy, and made a 600 mile round trip in it to Dublin last month - 49hp / 62lb/ft torque, 4 gears, rear drums, 0-60 around 16 secs etc - Didn't miss a beat, and cruised at around 80 ish on the Irish M ways (higher speed limit there than blighty, before I'm accused of illegalness :P )

I wouldn't say it was a particularly restful place to cover 600 miles, but it managed fine - 1980's cars are still usable in 2015, but you do need to drive with good anticipation (rubbish brakes / poor acceleration / low cornering speeds because of bodyroll and tiny 13" tyres), plus show some mechanical sympathy (gentle on the controls / allow it to warm up before disengaging the choke etc).

That said, the Metro beat my car in contemporary road tests, so perhaps I should chop it in against this one? :blackeye
