Whirlpool Type Baths

I know quite a few of you have had experiences! with whirlpool type baths so my question is.... how you keep them clean, by that I mean the jets when the come on deliver a brown flakey type residue which is not very pleasant. I have tried the chemical cleaner provided with the bath, flushed out/skimmed off numerous times but the problem persists. It just seams to be created/ recycled through the maze of pipework below the bath. Is there any way to prevent/control this - either chemically or physically. Any advice/comments?
Thank you..

Dishwasher cleaner works for us.
Empty half a bottle into a bathfull of water (just full enough to cover the jets) and switch on for about 10 mins.
Drain, then fill with clean water and switch on for a minute to rinse.
Job done.

Duggie,
Hope you keep some cutlery in the bath when you do this to make sure you don't waste
all the dishwasher cleanser.
