If he finishes that to the same standard he as achieved so far, it will be a very nice conversion. Will be bloody quick too! I guess the extra weight of the V8 will help with some much needed traction.

Are we not having a "heavier than a K" debate yet?

Not for a V8

... we'll let it in as it's a V8

Just to add,... it will of course be much heavier, won't be able to put it's power down and will handle like a drunken pig on ice. A standard S1 with the mighty K will be much quicker down any given stretch of road - obviously!

Reading the posts, the engine and gearbox only weighs 160kg!! And the weight is lower down, but further back. Dom's right, a Kseries would dick it...lol

A K with accessories is what circa 100kg & a PG1 circa 30kg. 160 for the V8 & box is impressive, should weigh in similar to a honda conversion?

Surprisingly reasonable - for some SE'rs must be the equivalent to taking a good dump before going for a drive.

I once had a friendly impromptu drag-race with a F355 off a roundabout, in the Sport 160.
Surprisingly even-ish up to the top of 3rd, then utterly futile as the Elise runs out of puff and the red car...well, doesn't!
Still, behind is exactly where you want to be when an Italian V8 is at full chat!
Take that 375bhp and sound and put it in the lighter car, and I'd imagine you create something very, very special. Maybe not the last word in vehicle dynamics, but who cares?

If the 2.7 v6 fits.....

Arriving broadside, in a cloud of smoke......
