20 years!!! :shock: Jeez, where does the time go? ...and 20 years of basically the same chassis! Just goes to show how good it is. 8)

Looks great, but sadly it also shows how Lotus has never managed to invest enough in new models. The S2 Elise was launched in October 2000, and except for a change to Toyota engines it is essentially the same now. Still a great car and still unique in many ways, but long overdue a major revamp. Hopefully it is on the cards as part of the Gales master plan.

The thing is the 911 is the same car in name only. The 991 is vastly different to the 996 which was on sale in 2000, and the 996 was of course very different to the 993 which was on sale when the S1 Elise came out. If only Lotus had the funds to continually develop new models the way Porsche does.

I recently watched the Inside Story video. Inspirational. I then drove my 16 yr old 108k mile Elise. Inspirational.
