Figure this out. Rather nice new Exige V6 advertised by MMC for 57k for the last few weeks is now up at 3 grand more on PH http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... ew/3229972 I thought cars were supposed to come down in price when they don't shift out the showroom :?

Time of year ? There must be a huge shift in Lotus demand when the daffodils come out.

In the past I have always found MMC pricing to be on the curious side with considerable savings to be made by buying in England, not sure if that is still the case.

Regards,

Jeremy

Not unusual to find dealers putting prices up occasionally.

I was monitoring the prices of a certain model (non-Lotus) in 2013, and clocked the fact that one of the cars on my radar went up £1k overnight.

I contacted the franchised dealer to see what was on offer for the additional £1k, and received the following reply...

"We research our prices on a daily basis to make sure we are competitive and sometimes the market moves up as well as down.

I could not see a like of like car in our market area anywhere near as competitively priced as ours and moved our price up.

If however you can see a like for like car at a reputable dealer that you think offers better value please let me know and I will gladly revisit our price".

There are offers attached to some cars too. Lotus have been offering loyalty discounts so maybe normal price resumed when an offer expired.
Or as above - supply and demand.

I was chatting to the guy from McLaren Glasgow yesterday and he was saying they've had one traded in that they'd like to offload.

Maybe a deal to be done for someone... http://www.parks.uk.com/used-cars/22970/lotus-exige/

Noticed that one too. Not sure about the colour - think I would need to see it in the plastic :)

Prices do seem to be on the up.

Murray's have what is basically my car, it 's the same age and similar spec (although the Bilsteins might be an upgrade?)

Two years on it 's now £2k more than i paid for mine.

RVs on all models continue to strengthen; remember the Elise S won best residuals of any car on sale:

Lotus Loyalty (assistance from me to help current owners to buy a new Lotus) runs out at the end of March so you have a limited time frame to further maximise your return
