MOT booking

Post by highlander » Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:20 am

A question for the collective, will save me a bit of googling!!
I have my car in storage in Thurso at the moment and when it re-emerges in the spring it'll be out of MOT.In an ideal world I'd like this done at MMC but can I drive the car there with no MOT or "road tax".....insurance will be in place and MOT could be pre-booked.......bear in mind all the number plate recognition cameras on the A9 so this will have to be a legal journey.
Alternative is to have Sandy Coghill test it and hope it doesn't need anything doing.......car will have to go to MMC anyway for an annual service.

Maybe another option is to have the car recovered to MMC as I'm sure I noticed the exhaust was blowing when I drove it last.......could be a crack in the manifold :damnfunny

Thanks for all input

It's fine to drive it there assuming you have pre booked the MOT

If it fails its MOT you can also drive it to another garage for repair work, then back to the original garage.

Coincidentally N3 suffered a crack in the manifold a few miles down the road when I was taking it to MMC for a service, and had to be recovered there.
