Feck me that's a bit steep, the price not the Bridge, £125 plus rip-of booking fee
The O2 is between £26 and £33 by comparison.

I think I must have flown over the viewing platform for this on top of the bridge recently. Didn't realise what it was at the time

As an aside... if anyone ever fancies a flight from Perth down to and around the Bridges then just pipe up. It really is an interesting way to appreciate them and Edinburgh airport are very accommodating of folk wanting to do it. Special SE price of a bacon roll at the end. :)

To be fair it's for charity and the Forth Bridge is more than twice the height of the O2 (110m v 50m).

It's just a temporary viewing platform at the moment. The open cage lift up the outside of the bridge tower looks terrifying!
A friend in South Queensferry has just (today!) been awarded the architectural brief to take the plans for the permanent visitors centre and viewing platform through to the planning stages.

A very generous offer, renmure! The Bridges look stunning from up there.

I doubt I'd get my lanky frame into a microlight though.

Having flown with Jim a couple of times, I can highly (pardon the pun) recommend it. :thumbsup

If anybody wants a job with us as a network engineer, you can get that experience every week, as we have a couple of remote transmitters at the top of the tower on the bridge!
Our guys prefer to only go up when the sun is shining tho!!

Only thing that stops me flying is when it is gusty and blustery. The wind itself isn't so much an issue when you are in the air, but the gusts and turbulence can go very quickly from "exciting" to "scary" very quickly.

Best thing for me to do is, as soon as there looks like a decent day of weekend weather then I will post an informal open invitation for anyone to come along.

You get a decent view of the Bridges is you skip forward to 8mins here. Much fun :)

Bloody hell, you can throw that thing around. What happened to straight and level, and 2 minute turns? 8)
