Thanks for posting.

"Gales’s twin themes of simplification and lightness shine out of everything he proposes"
"but 50kg seems well within reach, while cost reductions are believed to be running at about 10 per cent per car."

Gales's plans seem a lot more realistic than that loony Bahar, but it is disappointing that they won't have the funds to develop any all new cars in the next few years. The Elise is already pretty ancient and surely long overdue replacement, and it sounds like there may never be a new Esprit :(

Sounds like a wise and positive move.

Agree that the elise chassis has been around for years, but at least when it was introduced it was revolutionary and forward thinking in it's concept, which means it has been able to continue to be used successfully for a good life span. I would love to see Lotus in a position to be able to develop an all new chassis / car, but it will need to be a radical step forward in terms of weigh, rigidity and cost to be worth doing... IMHO.

And was one of those ideas "create 6 million colour options so the customer can always be told it's 'the only one in the country in that colour'..."

I havnt read the article.

But I believe from the inside there will be a 400 bhp Evora (GTE type) and a 311 type car as Ali stated.
